Background
Connswater shopping centre is a community based shopping centre serving East and South Belfast and North Down. It has a footprint of 200,000 sq ft and the scheme also incorporates a retail park with an additional 130,000 sq ft consisting of a mix of multinational, local and leisure tenants.
Challenge
Connswater Shopping Centre required a cost effective and fully compliant security solution.
Their existing security consisted of manned guards providing security 24/7, 365 days per year. The annual cost was substantially high. They needed a cost effective security solution which would not compromise the integrity of their present on site security and would also enhance the level of service provided.
Mercury’s Solution
Mercury Security and Facilities Management conducted an operational survey (BSEN ISO 9001) and this included a risk assessment of the complete operation during opening and closing hours.
MSFM provided a cost effective and enhanced security solution to the centre.
This solution included an integrated approach to securing the centre. Mercury Security and Facilities Management staff monitor the centre’s CCTV system within the centre’s own control room and these staff members work together with the retail manned guards who patrol the centre as well as providing security to the tenants within the retail park.
The MSFM team provide a safe and secure shopping environment, first aid, guidance and customer service to the Connswater shopping centre and retail park customers.
